Missing Person Stacey David of Beaufort, SC

BEAUFORT, S.C. —

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a 44-year old man from a job site.

Just after 9:00 pm last night, Sheriff’s deputies met with a complainant at the Comfort Inn (2 Tanglewood Dr) in reference to a reported missing person.

Forty-four year old Stacey David, originally of Sumter, SC, was reported missing by a co-worker, with whom David has been staying while working in the area.

When David mysteriously walked away from their worksite at 11 Office Park Rd around noon yesterday, and then failed to return to the hotel, his co-worker became concerned.

David was reportedly acting strangely just before he left the job, and was seen walking around talking to himself. It is believed that David is unfamiliar with the area and has no known contacts here. David has no vehicle and no cell phone.

David is not considered a threat to himself or to others at this time, however, given his unusual behavior just prior to his disappearance, he is being considered as an endangered missing person, possibly requiring immediate medical attention.

David is described as a black male, approximately 5’07”, 130 lbs, and may go by the nickname “Blade.” At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a blue coat, blue jeans, and a beige cap.

Anyone with information regarding the possible whereabouts of Stacey David is asked to contact Crimestoppers or Investigator Sgt. L. Albertin at 843-255-3413.
