The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office was conducting dual homicide investigations Friday after the remains of two people were found in separate barrels in Lake Hartwell, and deputies named two suspects and released the identities of the man and woman who were killed.
Deputies identified the victims as Andrea Kellie Mitchell, 37, whose address wasn’t known, and Tony Lamar McGinnis, 53, whose last address was Starr. McGinnis was reported missing earlier this month, investigators said.

Coroner Greg Shore said McGinnis’ body had been dismembered.
Named as suspects in both homicide investigations were John Michael Young, 35, of 3605 Centerville Road in Anderson, and Shaine David Fischer, 34, of 419 W. Whitner St. in Anderson, according to arrest warrants.
Fischer was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of murder, according to warrants. Fischer was in the Anderson County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, deputies said.
On Friday night, investigators were searching for Young, said Chad McBride, a spokesman for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Warrants charged Young with two counts of murder and one count of unauthorized removal of a dead body.
Any possible motive for the killings hasn’t been established, McBride said.
McGinnis and Mitchell were killed in a wooded area on Hicks Road in Anderson County, according to warrants.
McGinnis died in September and Mitchell in October, the warrants say.
Both suffered blunt force trauma to the head, according to the warrants.
Mitchell’s body was found Wednesday in a plastic barrel that was partially submerged in the lake, authorities said.
Deputies returned to the lake Thursday and found McGinnis’ body in a metal barrel about 10 feet below the water’s surface.
