A missing Florida family is being sought and are considered endangered due to reports that the parents had a murder-suicide pact. As if the nature of a murder-suicide pact isn’t disturbing enough, it appears that the reasoning behind their plans comes from the autism diagnosis of one of their daughters, and the costs associated with it.
James Firth, 43, Mai Dang Firth, 31, and their two young daughters have been missing from the Melbourne, Florida area over the past week. The family has been living in Vietnam, but came to the U.S. to seek treatment for their daughter’s autism.

The parents have been known to make comments indicating that they will kill their children and themselves if the child’s autism doesn’t improve. These disturbing comments are part of what has officials seeking these individuals in a cross-country manhunt. Hopefully they weren’t serious, but it seems as though there is reason to believe that the Firths are indeed serious about their threats.
