Police in Louisville continue to investigate after a 12-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound Tuesday night.
Police responded to a home along Mount Holly Road in Fairdale around 10:30 p.m. after a report of a shooting. EMS took the 12-year-old victim to Kosair Children’s Hospital. Officials say he was alert and talking when he arrived at the hospital.

Police say there were several people inside the home at the time. Investigators did not elaborate on what led up to the shooting.
“We don’t believe it was self-inflicted,” LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said
