Baker City Police, with the help of the department’s drug-detecting dog, Turbo, arrested a Haines man Sunday night on multiple drug charges.
Baker City Police Chief Wyn Lohner said officers arrested Kenneth Grant Taylor III, 29, on charges of possessing hydrocodone, methamphetamine and another prescription drug. Taylor also was cited on a charge of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. He is being held at the Baker County Jail.

Lohner said officer Gerrit Southard initially pulled Taylor over at about 10:30 Sunday night at Campbell and Cedar streets after the officer noticed that the right brake light was out on the 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck Taylor was driving.
While Southard was in the process of issuing Taylor a warning for the defective equipment issue, Officer Rand Weaver and his partner, Turbo, arrived.
“Weaver ran Turbo around the vehicle and the search revealed illegal narcotics,” Lohner said.
The drugs were found in various locations inside the pickup truck, Lohner said.
“We’ll be conducting follow-up on the case,” he added.
