One person was killed and two were hospitalized Thursday night following a shooting in Greenland, said Greenland Police Chief Gary Ricker.
Police and emergency crews responded to the Washington County town in reference to a domestic disturbance that later turned into a shooting at 1037 N. Main Street at about 9 p.m.
One of the two living victims was shot in the abdomen, police said. Both were rushed to Washington Regional Medical Center, according to Central Emergency Medical Services and Greenland police. The victims’ conditions are unknown at this time.

Police have one person in custody on suspicion of carrying out the shooting, Ricker said.
Authorities from Greenland, West Fork and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Ricker would not release what kind of gun police believe was used, but an investigator picked up a shotgun from the ground near the home.
Ricker said the shooting happened at Elmwood Apartments. Authorities do not yet know what led to the shooting, he said.
Investigators were set to stay on scene throughout the night.
Police said they have responded to disturbance calls at the home before.
