The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a high-risk missing woman who was last seen on Friday.
Myra Sheek, 61, was reported missing Friday around 11:30 a.m. by the owner of Aguilar Manor Assisted Living Facility, located on the 6400 block Eggert Road in the Cutten area.
Sheek went for a walk around 11 a.m. that day and did not return, according to a press release. She normally doesn’t walk farther than one block from the home and returns within a short period of time.

The facility owner told the investigating deputy that Sheek has some medical issues which raise concerns for her welfare, according to a press release.
Deputies and Sheriff’s Citizens on Patrol searched the area for Sheek, but could not find her. Lt. Steve Knight said deputies asked neighbors, walkers and construction workers if they had seen Sheek and searched a nearby wooded area.
”They had quite a bit of people looking early on,” he said, adding that a deputy obtained a photograph of Sheek on Tuesday. “We haven’t stopped looking for her.”
Sheek is described as a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She wears glasses and was last seen wearing a denim jacket and yellow sweat pants.
The sheriff’s office requests the public’s help in locating Sheek, and asks anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 445-7251 or the sheriff’s office crime tip line at 268-2539.
