Police arrested a woman on charges of identity theft after they say she used someone else’s personal information to pay her cable bill.
According to a police report Mary Thornberry, 40, unlawfully obtained cable service from Insight Communications. Insight verified that an account was opened in the victim’s name and bank records show that the account used to make payments for the Insight bill belonged to Thornberry.

The police report says when confronted, Thornberry said she was unaware of the account being in the victim’s name.
At the time of the report there was a balance on the Insight account. Thornberry told the victim she would pay the balance and forward the victim the receipt.
Thornberry has been charged with theft of identity of another without consent.
