Wrongful Death Plea Deal Signed in Johnson County Couple’s Murder

A “person of interest” in the case of a murdered Johnson County couple has signed a plea agreement.

Larry and Sandy Blanton hadn’t been seen or heard from since September 2012. Friday night, their bodies were found buried on their property.

Amanda Fannin, the girlfriend of the couple’s son, Willie Blanton has signed a plea agreement in the case.

According to court documents obtained by LEX 18, Fannin says “she played no role whatsoever in the deaths…” and that she has information that would “enable the Commonwealth to prosecute [Willie] Blanton for causing the deaths of his parent, Larry Blanton and Sandra Blanton, and for concealing their remains.”

The terms of the agreement would mean Fannin cannot be prosecuted for crimes she may have committed after learning of the deaths. There’s also an “agreement to never seek the death penalty for [Willie] Blanton.” Blanton is already in jail, accused of filling his parents’ prescriptions and forging their checks.

Willie Blanton talked to LEX 18 after the couple disappeared, when he was labeled a “person of interest.” He proclaimed his innocence and was in tears saying, “I’ve been told they think I did something with them.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Fannin must provide all information surrounding the disappearance, manner of death, and burial of the Blantons. She could still be charged if she’s found to have left out important information, lied, or to have been involved in murdering the couple.
