A Mount Sterling man faces murder charges after an alleged DUI crash in Powell County late Thursday night.
The wreck happened at about 10 p.m. on Kentucky 11 in Powell County. Martha Vivian, 79, of Clay City, was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus when she lost control and traveled into a ditch. While standing next to her disabled vehicle, Vivian was struck by a 1982 GMC pickup driven by Johnny Moore, 34. The impact caused fatal injuries to Vivian.

Moore is charged with operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., and murder with aggravating circumstances first offense.
Moore is being held at the Powell County Detention Center. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
