Danville Firefighters responded to two fires at the same house within 24 hours Friday and both have been ruled arson.

The Danville Fire Department responded to a home at 25 Oakland Avenue just after midnight Friday. The house was determined to be abandoned.

Once the fire was controlled, crews entered the structure to complete a search as well as extinguish spot fires. The search found no one inside the house. The house is considered a total loss.

At 8:32 p.m. firefighters returned to the scene to find the house on fire again.

Due to the extensive damage from the first incident, DFD personnel did not enter the structure.

Heat from the fire caused minor damage to a house next door. No one was hurt.

The DFD Fire Marshal’s Office ruled both fires an arson. There have been no arrests at this time but the investigation continues.

According to neighbors, no one has lived in the house for several years.
