Insurance Fraud 2 Arrested in Raritan Township, NJ

A woman who reported her car stolen from the Flemington Marketplace shopping center was later charged with lying to police and conspiring to commit insurance fraud.

On Sunday, April 14, at about 9 p.m., police were dispatched to Kohl’s Department Store on a report of a stolen vehicle. Sheli Dagostino, 43, of Allentown, Pa., reported that her 2011 Nissan Altima had been stolen from the parking lot.

At about 9:30 p.m., police were dispatched to River Road near Pennsylvania Avenue on a report of a vehicle in the river. Dagostino’s car had gone down a 20-foot embankment and was partially in the water.

After further investigation, police arrested Dagostino and James Solakian, 42, of Belvidere and charged them with filing a false police report and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.
