The co-owner of a now-defunct Bryan chiropractic clinic faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a $3 million auto insurance fraud.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release Monday that Marion Young, 42, admitted that he participated in a two-year conspiracy to defraud auto insurance companies. Authorities said Young and four others were involved in the scam, which involved recruiting alleged auto accident victims to be represented by a Bryan law firm.

Authorities said Young used Private Chiropractic Clinic as a front to create bills for treatments that were never performed. The law firm would use the fraudulent bills to issue settlement demand letters to insurance companies, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The scheme resulted in more than $3 million in false billing claims, officials said.
Young received approximately $112,000 from the law firm during the course of the scam, according to the news release. As part of his plea agreement, he agreed to forfeit that money and pay restitution of $1.2 million to the insurance companies.
Chase Lindsey, a Bryan chiropractor involved in the scheme, pleaded guilty to engaging in conspiracy to defraud in January.
Young is set to be sentenced on Sept. 16. The three remaining defendants in the case are scheduled for trial on Sept. 24.
