On May 20, 2013 numerous sources reported that the body of missing teen Katlyn Williams had been located. However, her loved ones have been in a state of shock, seeking answers to how this missing teen ended up dead. Now reports by the Columbus Dispatch (among others) are indicating that the girl might have died from a drug overdose. Police are saying that the 14-year-old girl’s death was “probably accidental,” though the lack of certainty in the statements isn’t really promising. It should be noted, however, that no foul play is suspected.

This Central Ohio news source points out that the girl had been missing since March 26th before her body was found last week in a home in Columbus. Her foster father said that she sneaked out of her bedroom window. Bob Williams said the following:
“She had been communicating with someone online. I’d rather not say who they were.”
The unidentified person she’d been talking to is who transported her from her home, but from there it’s not known if he/she had any further involvement in the events that took place. A rape kid was performed on the missing teen’s body as well as a toxicology test, but the results of the rape kit have not been released. Her foster father added that he felt that the 14-year-old girl was in danger with this person, and he does not know the people in the home or how she ended up in the home where she was found in the first place.
This person she met online isn’t being identified, but it would be helpful if officials got to the bottom of any potential involvement. If this happens to be an adult male, there could actually be charges in the future. However, there are currently no charges pending in connection to this girl’s disappearance and death. In the meantime, this is being considered a tragic accident related to drug use.
