Identity Theft Oakland, CA Woman Arrested in Benicia

Police say they’ve arrested a career criminal who appeared to be churning out fraudulent documents in a local hotel room.

Police responded Wednesday afternoon to the Heritage Inn on East Second Street to investigate a report of a room being booked with a stolen credit card.

Officers encountered two suspects in the parking lot, including 34-year-old Adrian Hayes of Vallejo, who was wanted on a misdemeanor domestic violence warrant. He was arrested on the warrant.

The other suspect, 40-year-old Dayna Huntsman, was found to have an extensive criminal record involving identity theft, burglary and fraud, police said.

During a federal probation search of the hotel room, investigators reportedly found numerous credit cards, employment papers with personal data from several people, tax papers, forged checks, a stolen I.D., a laptop computer, a fax machine, a computer printer and drug paraphernalia.

Huntsman, who provided an Oakland address, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, forgery, credit card theft, identity theft, possession of stolen property, fraudulent use of the California state seal, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violations.

Both suspects were booked into Solano County jail.

Police said Thursday they are continuing to investigate the case to determine the extent of the alleged fraud and identify more victims.
