An Upper Dublin man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting three youths over a several year timeframe.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Upper Dublin Township Police Chief Terrence Thompson announced the arrest of Burt Philip Ludin, 51, of the Willow Grove section of Upper Dublin, Friday on charges of involuntary deviate sexual Intercourse, indecent assault, dissemination of sexual materials to minors, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and related offenses.
On Aug. 17, 2010, a 19-year-old male told Upper Dublin Police that he was sexually assaulted by Burt Ludin on multiple occasions over several years, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office. The male said that at the age of 11, during a sleep over at Ludin’s home, Ludin showed him pornography and masturbated in front of him. Ludin continued to show him pornography on several occasions until the age of 13 when the male was alone with Ludin either at Ludin’s home or at other locations. On several occasions, the male told policer, Ludin touched him inappropriately and had the victim touch him in an inappropriate manner.
This month, a 20 year old male and a 22 year old male went to the Upper Dublin Police to report that they were sexually assaulted by Burt Ludin on multiple occasions over several years, according to the release. The males reported that between the ages of 11 and 15, Ludin showed them pornography and inappropriately touched them and Ludin would have the males touch him in an inappropriate manner. The incidents occurred when either male was alone with Ludin in his home or at other locations.
All three males said the incidents occurred in Upper Dublin Township, and in Warminster Township, Bucks County.
Ludin was previously arrested in Upper Moreland in January 2009 and charged with corruption of minors and selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to court records. The corruption of a minor charges were dropped and Ludin pleaded guilty to selling or furnishing liquor to a minor and was sentenced to one year’s probation. In 1987 he was found guilty in Philadelphia court of simple assault, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person and was sentenced to probation in connection with a 1986 incident, according to court records.
Oct. 13 Ludin was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David A. Keightly, bail was set at $150,000 cash and he was taken to Montgomery County Prison to await a preliminary hearing.
