Authorities are investigating the activities of a drug smuggling ring after deputies reported finding $1 million dollars worth of cocaine hidden in construction equipment.
Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio told Action 4 News that a deputy pulled over a flatbed 18-wheeler carrying forklift buckets for a traffic violation in Combes on Thursday night.

A K-9 officer was called to the scene where a drug dog allegedly detected the presence of something suspicious from the back of the flatbed.
Deputies searched the flatbed trailer and reported finding about 88 pounds of cocaine hidden inside construction equipment.
Authorities believe the drugs are worth about $1 million dollars on the streets.
Sheriff Lucio said smugglers are getting more aggressive and trying to smuggle bigger loads.
Deputies did not arrest the 18-wheeler driver but Sheriff Lucio said he is being questioned as part of ongoing investigation into a drug smuggling organization.
