Three men were being held at the Wake County Detention Center on Wednesday on child-sex charges that Wake County sheriff’s deputies and police in Holly Springs and Cary brought in unrelated cases.
Tuesday, Holly Springs police charged Oscar Sanchez Lopez, 29, of 1218 Verdoucq Drive with first-degree sex offense against a child, saying that he was involved with a child under 13 on Monday.

Lopez, who was arrested at his home Tuesday night, was being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail for a Wednesday court appearance, and federal immigration officials were looking into his status as an immigrant from Mexico, court papers showed.
In Cary, police arrested Josh Parker Wheeless, 28, of 1212 Wicklow Drive on a count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, saying in an arrest warrant that he had persuaded a 16-year-old to send him nude digital pictures last weekend.
Wheeless, who was arrested at the Cary police station Tuesday morning, was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.
Monday evening, deputies arrested John Ross Bain, 65, of 1316 Roffler St. in Garner at his home and charged him with two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
An arrest warrant said deputies believed the incidents involved a child under 16 and that offenses occurred between Dec. 1, 2011, and last Sept. 1.
Bain was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after a court appearance Tuesday.
