Missing Person Body of Missing Palastine, TX Woman Found in Lake

The body of a African-American woman was found floating in the waters of Richland Chambers Reservoir Monday, August 19, 2013.
A Dallas autopsy confirmed the remains to be that of Palestine resident, Linda Kay Blackshear, who had previously been reported missing by a close friend. However, the cause of death is still pending.
Ms. Blackshear’s vehicle had been found on August 17th near the lake on FM 488, according to Freestone County Chief Deputy Robert Willis.
The car was in good condition, with the keys, Blackshear’s cell phone, and her purse still inside.  At that time, Sheriff’s Deputies searched the water for signs of a body, but it had not surfaced.
“The case is being handled by the Palestine Police Department, since that was where the missing persons report was filed,” Chief Willis explained.
The police have interviewed a number of people in this on-going investigation.
