The case of a woman reported missing last week in Cherokee County is now being handled by Bartow County.
Deborah Crawford, 41, reportedly was dropped off at the Kmart location in Canton, where she met a man, reports state. Police, however, determined Crawford was last seen at a hotel in Cartersville.
Bartow County investigators spoke with a witness Wednesday who said she had taken Crawford to the doctor on Aug. 19 between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. before dropping the woman off at the Carson Loop location, according to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office report.
The witness told deputies Crawford had a bag of prescription pills she was possibly trying to sell.
Crawford reportedly suffers from depression. She is described as 165 pounds with a tattoo of “Brent’s playground” on her chest and a tattoo of praying hands on her right forearm, The Cherokee Ledger-News reported. She was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a black, checkered scarf, according to the BCSO report.
