The search for a missing Niceville woman is over.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office found the body of 36-year old Jacquelyn Emerson Thursday afternoon in the waters off Ward Cove.
Deputies began searching for Emerson Wednesday evening when her husband reported her missing. He came home from work around 5:00 p.m. and found her cell phone and purse inside the house, but there was no sign of her. He says he had last talked to Emerson around 12:30 that afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office used multiple K-9 units to search the area Wednesday evening. Thursday, they issued a missing person/endangered adult bulletin. Numerous volunteers then joined the search.
Sheriff’s Office Marine patrol deputies spotted Emerson’s body around 1:45 p.m.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
