27-year-old Ronnie Brenell Cox of Winterville was charged with one count each of filing a false police report, insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense. He was arrested Oct. 17 and placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
Criminal investigators with the Department of Insurance say the men conspired to defraud State Farm Insurance Company and RepWest Insurance Company of several thousand dollars after submitting fraudulent documentation in support of insurance claims for injuries caused by a staged accident back in August.
Investigators are also asking for the public’s help in locating 36-year-old Mallory Staten of Greenville for one count each of filing a false police report, insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense.
