A physical education teacher in the Rochester City School District has been found guilty of course of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Matthew LoMaglio, 36, was convicted of sexually abusing a second grade student during the 2006 and 2007 school year. The District Attorney’s office says on multiple occasions, LoMaglio inappropriately touched an eight-year-old city school student.

“I’m exceptionally proud of the victim in this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Kyle Rossi. “He displayed a tremendous amount of courage by coming forward and disclosing the horrible things that happened to him, and because of that courage, his abuser will face justice. I hope that this young man’s bravery inspires other victims of this type of crime to speak out.”
When sentenced on January 14, LoMaglio faces seven years in prison.
