Missing Person Bike of Wisconsin Teen Found

Investigators are following up on hundreds of leads on the disappearance of southeastern Wisconsin teen.

Kathryn Stalbaum, 15, has not been heard from since Tuesday morning. Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department says she texted a friend that she missed he bus and was going to ride her bike to school but she never made it.

 

Her parents reported her missing around 6:00pm after returning home from work and hearing a message from school that Stahlbaum had never made it to school.

Investigators found her bike Thursday across the street from Waukesha Memorial Hospital, about 8 miles from her home and school.

 

Investigators say there are unsure if Kathryn rode her bike there or if someone discarded it there.

 

Deputies have followed up with Stalbaum’s family in Minneapolis and Kansas City.

 

“Our number one objective is bringing Kathryn home safely,” Inspector Eric Severson said.

 

CrimeStoppers has offered up to $1,000 for any information leading to Stalbaum. They are urging the public to download her picture and keep it with you in case you see anyone who looks like her.

Waukesha County authorities say the bicycle belonging to a missing15-year-old girl was found in Waukesha, about eight miles from where they expected to find it.

 

Sheriff’s Inspector Eric Severson said Friday there’s still a lot investigators don’t know, but there’s still no evidence to suggest foul play.

 

Kathryn J. Stalbaum missed her school bus Tuesday morning and texted a friend she’d ride her bike to Kettle Moraine High School. She never arrived.

 

Her bike was found Thursday, but authorities didn’t immediately say where.

 

Severson says CrimeStoppers has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to Stalbaum. He says authorities have received about 150 phone calls, but they’re not getting the sort of leads they hoped for.

 

He says deputies have been communicating with Kathryn’s sister in the Minneapolis area.

TOWN OF GENESEE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities are focusing their search for a missing 15-year-old Wisconsin girl on the 2-mile route from her house to her school.

 

Kathryn Stalbaum of the Town of Genesee has not been seen since 6 a.m. Tuesday. She missed her bus to Kettle Moraine High School and sent a text to a friend saying she would be riding her bike to school. She never showed up for class.

 

Sheriff’s Inspector Eric Severson says the girl’s disappearance is “out of character for her,” the Journal Sentinel reports.

Stalbaum is 5 foot 7 inches and 120 pounds with long brown hair, blue eyes and braces. She may be wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and bright pink Nike tennis shoes. She may also be riding a teal Schwinn mountain bike and carrying a teal backpack.
