Austin police have identified skeletal remains as those of a man reported missing in 2009.
Gabriel Sanchez was reported missing by his family members on June 18, 2009. He was 41 at the time.
Sanchez was last seen on Friday June 12, 2009. His vehicle was located unoccupied and was impounded on Sunday, June 14, 2009.
In May of this year, a work crew discovered human skeletal remains in a field near W. Parmer Lane and Dessau Road. Austin Police Department detectives were recently notified that these remains have been positively identified through DNA as Sanchez.
The cause or manner of death is undetermined, however the death is considered suspicious.
