Lexington Fire Department and Jessamine County Fire Department asearched the Kentucky River near the Madison County Line Tuesday for a missing man.
Officials said two boats searched for 32-year-old Alex Johnson using sonar Tuesday afternoon between Clays Ferry Bridge and the Interstate 75 bridge.
Officials did not say what led the investigation to that location.

Johnson went missing Dec. 20 after he was on the phone with his girlfriend and hung up to answer the door. He hasn’t been seen since.
Friends and family gathered Monday night in Simpson County to pray for his safe return. They have also been using social media to help in the search for Johnson.
