A Taylor County man shot his girlfriend with a crossbow and then shot himself with a shotgun Tuesday morning, the Taylor County Sheriff said.
Investigators were called to the home on East Finley Ridge Road in Taylor County around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday and found the couple dead inside. The sheriff said there was blood between the couple.

The Sheriff says the man shot the woman in the torso with a crossbow and then killed himself with a shotgun. Officials say the couple had been fighting for some time before the situation turned deadly Tuesday.
They are both believed to be in their late thirties. The woman is from Virginia, according to officials. The victims’ identities have not yet been released.
The man’s uncle, who investigators say was at the home at the time and called the Sheriff’s office, was taken to the Sheriff’s office for questioning about the incident.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results and other forensic work that will corroborate the uncle’s story.
