The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in the search for a missing man.
William “Dan” Oakes, Sr., was reported missing Wednesday around noon.
Oakes’ daughter, Crystal Thomas, said she last saw her father at his home on Hwy 25 South near Williamsburg, Ky, on Jan. 2, around 4:15 p.m.

Oakes is 62-years-old, approximately 5’11” tall and weighs around 181 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Oakes has some scarring on his face.
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a ground search for Oaks. If anyone has any information about his current or potential whereabouts, please contact Whitley E911 at 606-549-6017.
The Sheriff’s Department is being assisted by Williamsburg Fire & Rescue, South Whitley Fire Department, Whitley County Emergency Management and Pleasant View Fire & Rescue.
