A Georgetown woman is attempting to find her sister who was traveling to Lexington but never made it.
Desndra Payne boarded a Greyhound bus in Florida headed to Lexington Friday Jan. 24 for their mother’s funeral.
Her sister, Everly Hounshell said the last time she spoke to her sister was Sunday after Payne got on a connecting bus in Atlanta.
“She said that the bus broke down somewhere between Georgia and Tennessee and that she was cold and hungry,” she said.

Then Payne’s phone went dead.
“She missed all of that and she wouldn’t miss that,” Hounshell said.
Hounshell has been trying to get help but after numerous calls to different police departments, she hasn’t gotten any answer about who has jurisdiction.
“When I called Atlanta State Police they said I needed to call Ft. Lauderdale because that’s where she boarded the bus,” she said. “When I called Ft. Lauderdale they said I can’t file a missing person report.”
Plus she said Greyhound didn’t know what bus Payne was on or if it broke down.
“I don’t know who else to call,” Hounshell said.
LEX 18 worked with Hounshell and called the Georgetown Police and after hearing the story, officers jumped to the rescue and filed a missing person report.
“I just hope and pray that she’s not hurt, that something didn’t happen to her,” she said. “I want her found and I want to make sure she is OK.”
