A Clark County woman charged with murdering her daughter and granddaughter was sentenced in the case Thursday.

Stanton pleaded guilty to both murders in January of this year.
Police said she confessed to killing her loved ones, saying it would prevent a nasty custody battle involving her granddaughter. She told police that she feared her granddaughter’s father was going to get increased visitation with the child.
Stanton told police both victims were sleeping when she cut their throats. She also cut her own wrists and throat before police arrived and she confessed to the double murder.
