A 16 year-old Wheeling girl has been missing since Wednesday and her parents are getting more worried with each passing day.
According to her mother and step father, Summer Wood was at home in Elm Grove on Wednesday when she asked to go to a friends house. When her mother called to have her come home, her friend’s family said she was never there.
A missing person report was filed Friday with the Wheeling Police Department. Summer’s mother, Jennifer Jordan, says she has been diagnosed with mental disabilities and needs her medication.
“I’m a nervous wreck over this,” Jennifer says. “I want her to come home and reassure her that she’s not going to be punished for this. I’m just more worried at this point about her safety.”
Summer has short brown hair. She’s about 5 feet tall and was last seen wearing a red Ohio State hoodie, green Aeropostale leggings and white, pink and blue Nikes.
If you’ve seen Summer or know anything about where she is, her parents and the Wheeling Police Department ask you to call them at 304 234-3663. You can make the tip anonymously.
