A Woodford County man was arrested Wednesday at his Versailles apartment for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying sex performance by a minor.
Andres Ortiz was arrested Wednesday at about 9:25 p.m. after Lexington police began investigating a suspect on the Internet sharing images of child sexual exploitation.
Police along with other agencies, executed a search warrant issued by KSP at Ortiz’s apartment in Versailles where they found equipment used to possess child pornography. That equipment was taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination, police said.

Ortiz is charged with one count of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor; and with four counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor in Woodford County.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
KSP was assisted on scene by Lexington police, Versailles police, Homeland Security Investigations and a Spanish-speaking interpreter from the Georgetown Police Dept.
Ortiz is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
