Arson Investigation Garrard County Home Set on Fire Twice

A Garrard county home caught fire not once, but twice Friday night as a result of what police suspect to be arson.

According to the family of six who rents the home, the first fire was set early in the evening and just a few hours after firefighters put the first fire out, they were called out again for the second one. They believe the fire started in the cellar.

The parents and their three kids live in the home along with a relative. The mother says seven people were in the home at the time of the fire, including members of the family.

“And then not even two hours later the whole house is engulfed in flames and this is…this is it,” said renter Tennille Allaf, “We have each other and that’s it, and I have my baby and that’s it.”

The family adds that this is actually the third time in six months that this has happened.

Police say they do suspect arson and they do have a person of interest.

One firefighter was sent to the hospital with an injury but everyone in the home did get out safely. The family says they do not have renter’s insurance on the home and any donations will be helpful.

A bank fund has been set up to help the family at Chase Bank. The Account Number is 3076293736, under the name Tinito Bailey.
