A Kilgore man received two prison sentences this past week for two counts of sexual assault of a child.
Seth Aaron King, 28, was sentenced to 17 years on count one of an indictment and eight years on count two of the indictment. Both counts charged him with having sex with a child who was younger than 17 years old when the incident occurred, according to the indictments filed in the Gregg County District Clerk’s Office.

Judge Alfonso Charles of the 124 District Court ordered the sentences to run consecutively, according to court records.
King was facing four counts of sexual assault of a child prior to the indictment being amended. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed a pending charge of sex offender’s failure to comply, according to a dismissal order filed March 17.
Records show King has previous convictions for similar charges in Gregg County and Rusk County.
He was convicted in September 2006 of aggravated sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to five years in prison, according to Gregg County Jail records. The victim in that case was younger than 14 years old at the time of the incident, according to court records. According to documents filed in March 2006, King was initially sentenced to deferred adjudication in that case.
