A Lexington daycare owner charged after being caught on camera abusing a child allegedly told police it’s no big deal.
According to her arrest citation, 63-year-old Sevola Marks, owner of Children’s Treehouse of Knowledge on Ohio St., bent a child’s fingers back to cause pain, gave him a friction burn and bent his arms back in such a way to restrict breathing.

The abuse was allegedly caught on camera by a witness.
Based on these allegations the child was interviewed by the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass and he reportedly told them this has happened to other children, too, as form of punishment.
Marks, who is set to be arraigned later Thursday, told police quote “it was not a big deal.”
She’s charged with criminal abuse.
