Missing Person Fundraiser To Add To Reward Fund One Year After Teen Went Missing

360 days. That’s how long Brookelyn Farthing has been missing. Yet, her family isn’t any closer to knowing exactly what happened to the Madison County teen.

“It’s been the worst year of our lives,” said the teen’s stepfather, Randall Walker.

What Farthing’s family does know is that Brookelyn was at a friend’s house in Madison County last June when she went missing. That friend told police he left her at his home and when he came back, his house was on fire and Brookelyn was no where to be found.

“Right now, we have a hole in our family and that hole is Brookelyn,” Walker said.

Sunday will mark exactly one year since her disappearance, and Brookelyn’s family will host a community fundraiser at the Madison County Fairgrounds featuring inflatables, tattoos for kids, live music and a silent auction. There will also be a car show and several raffles, including a car being raffled off.

The money raised will go directly into the reward fund for Farthing.

“Right now, it stands at $5,000 and me personally not talking with the family, I would love to see this triple after this benefit,” Walker said.

They hope the reward will become large enough that someone with information will come forward.

“We’re not going to stop until we know what has happened to Brooke,” Walker said.
