Lexington Police are investigating two overnight shootings that occured within less than half a mile of each other.
The first shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. Police were called to Sixth Street after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. They arrived to find a 32 year old man shot in the back. He was transported to UK Hospital where he later died.
Shortly over two hours later, police were called back to Sixth Street and Shropshire, less than half a mile from the original shooting scene. There, a man was found in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police will not say whether the two shootings are connected. However they are looking for a silver car with tinted windows that they believe may have played a role in the first shooting. This is the fourth shooting in Lexington this weekend.
