Wrongful Death Men Plead Not Guilty in Rowan County Murder

Two men charged in the murder of a Rowan County man during a home invasion over the weekend pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday morning.

The two suspects, Marcus Stewart and Demario Powell – both 18 years old – were arrested Tuesday night and charged with murder in the death of Bo Otis, who was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head after an apparent home invasion Sunday at his home on Rose Road in Clearfield. He later died at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

LEX 18 has learned investigators may be looking for several more suspects after both suspects identified three other people believed to be involved.

According to an arrest citation, Powell admitted he drove four people to Otis’ home and that he knew at least two of them were armed. State police say Stewart was the lookout. And, according to investigators, both men knew the plan was to rob Otis of cash and marijuana.

Otis’ neighbors call their arrests a small victory.

“Very, very relieved, honestly,” said Trevin Little. “For someone to do what they did to Bo, I feel that justice needs to be served. It’s just a terrible situation all around.”

A judge refused to lower bond for both suspects, which is set at $1 million cash.
