The Port Townsend Police Department was notified at about 1:30 p.m. Friday. July 11 that Port Townsend resident Joe H. Shimojima, 86, went missing from his home.
Mr. Shimojima suffers from mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and is unable to determine his location, according to a press release from Bill Beezley, East Jefferson Fire Rescue public information specialist.
He is described as an 86-year old Asian male with a white buzz haircut and a white goatee. He is 5-foot in height and weighs 135 pounds. His eyes are brown.
Mr. Shimojima obtained keys to at an 2006 Buick Rendezvous, four-door sport utility vehicle, Washington license plate 338-VJG, which had about half a tank of fuel.
He may be headed to 901 Byham Rd., Winlock, WA 98596 via Hwy 101 south or Interstate 5 south through Tacoma.
