Wrongful Death Two Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Bullitt County

A husband and wife were found dead inside of a Bullitt County home following what officials believe to be a murder-suicide.

The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Mike Murdoch, the couple died from gunshot wounds sometime Sunday. A family member discovered the them inside of a bedroom in the home on Cow Branch Road Monday afternoon.

Police said there were no clear clues pointing to a motive inside the home. The sheriff’s office did not have records of any calls regarding domestic problems. Deputies even had a hard time finding the home after they got the call Monday afternoon.

“I can tell you that it’s a very small road. In fact one of the detectives didn’t even know where it was because we hardly make calls out here,” Lt. Murdoch said.

A neighbor said things seemed strange after noticing her neighbor’s garage door open late Sunday night. He usually has them closed she said. She would often see the husband outside, doing yard work or playing with his young granddaughter.

The Bullitt County Coroner said the family was together, trying to cope after hearing the news. The identity of the couple has not been released but officials said they appeared to be in their late 50s or early 60s
