Missing Person Police Search for 9 Year Old Boy in Smyrna, GA

Police are looking for a missing 9-year-old boy who was last seen Tuesday morning at 1080 Oakdale Drive in Smyrna.

Officials said the boy, Braiden Stow, may be in the company of his father, Ryan Stow. Smryna Police Officer C.D. Graeff said in a release Tuesday evening that Ryan Stow may be suicidal.

Investigators said Stow, who ordinarily has custody of Braiden on weekends, had planned to take the boy on a camping trip. The boy’s grandparents — with whom Braiden lives — said they had found a note written by Ryan Stow that specifically mentioned “suicide by cop.” Police said they are very concerned about the safety of both Braiden and his father. They want to ensure Braiden is safe, and to get the help that Ryan needs.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Plumb with the Smyrna Police Department at 404-596-1973, or to call 911.
