The Better Business Bureau is warning homeowners about out-of-town “storm chasers” that are being seen in the Bluegrass after this week’s severe storms.
The BBB says residents have reported being approached by traveling contractors who are offering roof repair or replacement caused by wind and hail damage from the storms.
“BBB advises people to carefully check out any company that offers them services. Even if your insurance company will pay the cost, you want to make sure that the business that does the work is reputable, competent, and able to address warranty issues if they arise long after the out-of-towners have left,” said Jack Frank, President & CEO of the BBB.

The BBB urges consumers to check out the companies before hiring and compare estimates.
