Accident Reconstruction Laurel Co. Boy on Life Support After Being Hit By Car

A Laurel County child is in critical condition at the University of Kentucky Hospital after, his family says, he was hit by a car while riding his skateboard.

The 12-year-old’s mother, Tonya Landry, says she’s thankful it was a nurse behind the wheel, who could help the boy on scene after the accident.

Landry says her son was riding his skateboard with his cousin around noon Tuesday when he was hit by a car near Second and Spring streets in London.

David, better known as Bub, was immediately airlifted to UK, where he remains on life support Wednesday. He suffered five broken ribs, punctured lungs and a spleen, and a broken collarbone.

The boy’s mother, who has stayed by his side at the hospital since the accident, says David will likely remain on life support throughout the day. She is hopeful he will survive.
