A Cass County man faces life in prison on allegations he raped a child in a home and on camping trips in Southeast Nebraska.
Raymond Daniels, 66, of Avoca, was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child and another felony sex crime last month.
He is accused of sexually assaulting the girl, who he knew, in a home and a camper at Wagon Train State Park in Hickman, near Louisville and near Fairbury, according to an affidavit for his arrest.

In the affidavit, Cass County Sheriff’s Investigator Douglas Durkan said the crimes occurred between 2010 and 2014.
A family member of the victim called the sheriff’s office after the girl told her about the alleged abuse following a trip to the hospital, Durkan said in the affidavit.
Cass County deputies arrested Daniels Oct. 16.
His attorney, E. Michael Slattery of Plattsmouth, didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Daniels is in Cass County jail on $250,000 bond and is set for arraignment Nov. 17.
