Wrongful Death Mercer Co. Coroner Releases Info in Deaths of Husband and Wife

The Mercer County Coroner now says that the manner of death of a couple found dead in late August is slightly different than investigators originally thought.

Investigators originally said Bruce Noel shot and killed his wife Glenda in their Warwick Road home, then turned the gun on himself.

Now the Mercer County Coroner tells LEX 18 that it appears that Glenda was shot during a struggle as she tried to stop her husband from committing suicide.

Glenda was on the phone with her niece when she overheard a loud boom. Glenda stopped responding. The niece ran to the Noel’s home and discovered Glenda and Bruce deceased in the bedroom.

In a statement released after their death, the family said Bruce “had a good heart, but struggled mightily with depression.” They said he “loved his wife dearly and she meant everything to him. This tragedy is not indicative of his heart or the wonderful father, grandfather, and husband we know him to be. I hope they are remembered for the wonderful Christian people they truly were.”
