Wrongful Death Murder Suspect Arrested in Lexington

Eyron Jamar Smith, 23, was in possession of a loaded .45 caliber pistol along with  numerous controlled substances.  He has two outstanding warrants from  Fayette County.  One is for failure to appear and the other, according to Lexington police, is a murder warrant for the Nov. 16 shooting of Walter Gray.

University of Kentucky police and Lexington police report seeing a car early this morning driving on South Limestone without headlights on.  When an officer attempted to pull the vehicle over the driver took off and there was a brief pursuit.  The vehicle was stopped on Alumi and Nicholasville Rd.  The driver ran from the vehicle but was tackled by an officer on Alumni at University.
