Lowell Police have identified the two persons of interested in a sexual assault of a 6-year-old boy at a movie theater over the weekend.
Officers were called to the Regal Cinemas at Franklin Square on Saturday to investigate a reported sex offense against a 6-year-old. Police say the incident occurred in the bathroom off the main lobby.
Authorities say the suspect is a black male in his late-teens or early-20s. He was seen wearing a blue hoodie with a Superman “S” on the chest, black pants with a possible stripe down the legs and white shoes. He’s described as standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9 and weighing between 135 and 165 pounds.

Police say the 6-year-old boy identified the man in the Superman sweatshirt as his attacker.
A second person, a person of interest, is described as a white female between the ages of 55 and 65 with grey hair. She’s said to stand between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-7 and weighing about 190 pounds.
Late Monday night, Lowell Police said after receiving multiple tips from citizens, the persons of interest have been identified as a mother and son, and police have spoken with both of them.
No arrests have been made in the case, but an active investigation is ongoing.
The case will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office, which will determine if charges will be filed.
The names of the persons of interest will not be released at this time, police say.
