Investigators have released the name of the 10-year-old boy hit-and-killed by a school bus in Whitley County Monday afternoon.
State police say just before 4 p.m., Jonathan Chatham and three other students got off the bus on Highway 779 and Chatham was somehow hit as the bus drove away. He did not survive the impact.
Police say Chatham is from the community and was on his way home from North Whitley Elementary School.

Troopers say 33-year-old Amanda Woliver was driving the Whitley County school bus at the time. They tell us they do not suspect that alcohol or drug use was a factor in the accident.
“I think for the most part we are dealing with just a horrible accident. Just a serious and bad tragedy for everyone involved,” said Kentucky State Police Trooper Steven Douglas.
As of Monday night, no charges were filed in the case.
