Investigators said they were notified and a search of the area was begun. The Somerset Police Department provided a bloodhound tracking dog and personnel from the Rescue Squad, Burnside Fire Department, and Bronston Fire Department assisted deputies in an unsuccessful search of the area for Jones.

The Pulaski County Rescue Squad Dive Team was called in to begin a search in the immediate area of the waters of Lake Cumberland. Jones was recovered at around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday and was turned over to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators said the cause of death has not been determined, although no foul play is suspected and it appears to be an accidental drowning.
