Human remains found in a car during a traffic stop in Hampton are those of the driver’s son, Va. State Police said Friday.
The Office of the Medical Examiner has confirmed the remains are those of 44-year-old Tonya Slaton’s biological son, Quincy Jamar Davis.
State police say there are no witnesses who have seen Davis since 2004 when he was in seventh-grade at Virginia Beach Middle School. Davis would have turned 25 on Tuesday.

Slaton, who is from Richmond, was driving a Ford Mustang when she was pulled over on Interstate 64 near Exit 265 for Rip Rap Road in Hampton around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6.
Her last known address was in the 100 block of Foushee Street in Richmond.
According to a search warrant obtained by WVEC-TV, the trooper noticed a large white spot on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat. Slaton said it was from bleach.
Slaton told the trooper she only had clothes in her trunk but when the trooper opened it he smelled “rotting flesh.” Slaton began throwing clothes on top of the spare tire, which is where the trooper found two plastic bags wrapped in duct tape full human remains, according to the document.
Among the other items seized from the car were an Apple iPhone, a white sweater that contained fibers and possibly hair, a YMCA card, carpet from the trunk and both sides of the back seat floor and a paper box.
Slaton was charged with concealment of a dead body and remains in jail without bond. Additional charges are pending.
This is not the first time Slaton faced charges in Hampton.
She pleaded guilty to shooting at, but not injuring, a man inside a home in 2007. According to a press release from the time of the shooting, Hampton police said they were searching for Slaton in a 2003 black Mustang convertible.
Slaton is due in Hampton court Monday, according to online court records.
